SubscribeStar Website Gets Shutdown By PayPal & Stripe

SUBSCRIBESTAR ( Just announced that they are in the process of integrating a new payment processor for their platform. As of Monday December 17, 2018 it was announced that Paypal and Stripe both payment processors they use to accept payments for their creators have banned them from their platforms. Although all of the facts have not been reported this does come on the cusp of the Patreon boycotting controversy that started last week. If you're unaware of the patreon banning news I suggest looking into the banning of Sargon of Akaad and other creators that were politically motivated. We need to talk about @Patreon and what appears to be a common move to create frameworks to selectively ban those who are not “woke-compliant”. There is a full flip where “Trust and Safety” means neither. The effect is to make it impossible to have adult discussions on platforms. — Eric Weinstein (@EricRWeinstein) December 16, 2018 SubscribeStar has been an alternative crowdfunding site for creators and is now gaining recognition since the Patreon controversy. Patreon has been banning creators that have not violated their terms of service. Sam Harris Patreon's 13th most subscribed Patreon has reportedly boycotting Patreon and has removed his account from the Platform — Sam Harris (@SamHarrisOrg) December 17, 2018 Now it is important to know that many many other creators not affiliated with the Patreon and Subscribestar controversy are being significantly affected. What will be their next [...]

Google Algorithm Update March 28, 2018? Unconfirmed Reports Say Yes

Reported from SEO roundtable and Moz the unconfirmed reports are coming in that there was possibly an update to the Google organic search algorithm. Each year, Google changes its search algorithm around 500–600 times. While most of these changes are minor, Google occasionally rolls out a "major" algorithmic update (such as Google Panda and Google Penguin) that affects search results in significant ways. For search marketers, knowing the dates of these Google updates can help explain changes in rankings and organic website traffic and ultimately improve search engine optimization. Below, we’ve listed the major algorithmic changes that have had the biggest impact on search. source link SEO Roundtable's report is similar to there version here. There may have been another update late March 27th, mostly on March 28th and through today, with the Google search rankings. I am seeing an uptick in chatter from the SEO community. It might be ongoing from the March 23rd update which is unconfirmed, that some believe are tweaks to the confirmed core update from earlier this month. Either way, there is a lot of chatter about a possible Google update over the past 24+ hours. Could this one be related to the rollout of the mobile-first indexing process? Maybe, but the weekend one was not related to that and those tracking this closely aren't thinking it is a mobile-first indexing thing. See source link here

Delta SEO Company Scamming Businesses?

For the last couple of weeks, there has been a lot of companies inquiring about invoices they seem to be receiving from a company called Delta SEO. After Googling Delta SEO it seems this company doesn't exist and is fraudulently sending emails, faxed and mailed invoices to local businesses across the country. This tactic is not new for scammers as they have been taking advantage of small businesses for years using fake invoices to con payments from unsuspecting bookkeepers & business owners this type of tactic is called Phantom debt scams. If you have received an invoice from a company called Delta SEO Agency recently and have never signed up for a service from them then I recommend not paying any invoice and reporting No matter how convincing a letter or phone call seems, check it out. Look up the real number for the government agency, office, or employee (yes, even judges) and get the real story. It’s likely to be a scam. Be suspicious if anyone — no matter who they say they are — asks you to wire money, or load a rechargeable money card as a way to pay back the debt. There’s no legitimate reason for someone to ask you to send money that way. To file a report about Delta SEO or any other company that you feel is scamming please contact the FTC (Federal Trade Commission). You can also use the complaint assistant to file a complaint here. Why Should I Invest in SEO & Not Just Do Pay Per Click Advertising in 2018?

Have you ever wondered, Why Should I invest in search engine optimization and not just do pay per click advertising? This is one of the most common questions digital marketers get and the answer could not be more simple. First of all, pay per click does not help your web presence become more powerful. It is a temporary solution. Search engine optimization slowly builds your website into a digital asset that is valuable and longterm. But most importantly, the sheer difference in the amount of leads that you can receive from search engine optimization is an over whelming advantage that cannot be ignored. Here is a Simple Example; Let's say that 1000 people per month type the keywords "Dallas Roofer" into Google. There will be 7 pay per click advertisers all fighting to receive 10-15% of those 1000 searches. Yes. That's Right. All the pay per click advertisers combined only receive 10-15% of the leads. So, all seven advertisers will get 1/7th of 100-150 leads! That's not enough to grow your business is it? On the other hand, the top organic results. Non pay-per click will receive over 40%! Would you rather have 10 leads per month or 400? The math and the answer are both simple. Contact us today to get Google leads coming your way.

A Guide to Local Search Optimization In 2016

Article Originally published by Search Engine Journal  February 15, 2016 Google introduced the Pigeon Update in July 2014 (thanks Grant Simmons), forever changing Local Search and Search Optimization. Ironically, as more businesses become aware of the need for search engine optimization, SEO has become more complicated. Prior to Google’s Hummingbird update, local optimization consisted of a set of easily defined steps that, for the most part, existed outside of the more challenging traditional organic optimization practices. While those steps are still part of the local optimization process, Hummingbird integrated many of the more traditional signals into local search as well. Basic Local SEO Step One: Set up or Claim Your Google My Business Listing If you do nothing else, you should go to Google My Business and claim and complete your business listing for EACH location: Decide on your N-A-P (name, address, phone number). It is important that it is consistent across the web. The NAP that you use here should be the same as the one that appears on your website and other business listings. It is recommended that you include a local number whenever possible Choose your category(ies) carefully. Google recommends choosing theone that is best for your business, however some businesses do require more than one. If you are having a tough time finding the right category, this tool may help. Fill out your profile as completely as possible. Include your product/service and location-based keywords in your profile. Include [...]

What is The Value Of An HVAC Lead For A Air Conditioning & Heating Company?

The Mother of All HVAC Marketing Mistakes In the world of big business, data and analytics are hot topics right now. In the September 2014 issue of Harvard Business Review, author Laura Alber examined how Williams-Sonoma’s “secret sauce” involves taking data to a whole new level and embracing and infusing analytics into all business decisions—big and small.] While big businesses are benefiting (enormously) from analytics, small, local businesses haven’t been nearly as quick to adopt data-driven thinking. In my experience, most small-medium size HVAC companies don’t accurately track their advertising and marketing, let alone utilize their accounting and customer data to make decisions. Many don’t even have their income statements set up correctly—not separating various lines of business into separate revenue categories or placing things that should be listed as COGS or Cost of Sales as Expenses, etc. That’s part of what we do at Sky Tide Digital. We help HVAC contractors collect the right data about their business and their advertising and marketing and organize it so that it’s actionable. Some HVAC contractors think that the value of an SEO lead is the price per lead offered by the cheapest pay per lead company. Given the average lead quality offered by many pay per lead companies, and the number of instances where one lead is sold to multiple HVAC contractors (leading to a much lower lead-to-sale conversion rate and an astronomically high cost per sale number), this is a very limiting way to value leads. To [...]

Finally – Google Adwords Reporting Interface Gets A Make Over

It was mentioned last year and finally they rolled out the new drag and drop reporting interface making it a breeze to create customized reports easily. The custom reports can be visually changed into bar,pie graph and line graph reports. This new dashboard has been seen in lower spending accounts already and will be slowly rolling out to the rest of the accounts through the rest of the month.   Introducing Report Editor—a powerful tool that lets you explore your account data in new ways: — Google AdWords (@adwords) August 5, 2015   This new change is by no means an attempt to bring back dead users, but merely an upgrade for existing hardcore account managers. The reporting system will allow managers to aggregate data much easier, and the new Quality Score will undoubtedly provide much better insights into the Adwords scoring system. By giving all newly added keywords a Quality Score of 6, they are factoring out vague historical data that was previously not linked to Adwords metrics. This levels the playing field for all new keywords added to your campaigns. Adwords managers are rejoicing over the Android app upgrade, as well. The app was first introduced in March of this year, and has been considered a great success. The app has been downloaded almost a million times in over 200 different countries. The Adwords team added an entire Billing System that is completely accessible through the [...]

Recent News | New “Googlebot cannot access CSS and JS files” in Google Search Console

New “Googlebot cannot access CSS and JS files” in Google Search Console Reblogged from The Sem Post Orginal Author  JENNIFER SLEGG Google Search Console has begun sending out a brand new warning to webmasters who are blocking CSS and JavaScript on their websites. The new warning, also referred to as [WNC-658001] is send by both email and as an alert in Google Search Console for affected websites. Googlebot cannot access CSS and JS files on _____ Google systems have recently detected an issue with your homepage that affects how well our algorithms render and index your content. Specifically, Googlebot cannot access your JavaScript and/or CSS files because of restrictions in your robots.txt file. These files help Google understand that your website works properly so blocking access to these assets can result in suboptimal rankings. Here is a copy of the notice in Google Search Console. The warning also states emphatically that blocking Javascript and/or CSS “can result in suboptimal rankings.”  While Google has been making it known that they must be unblocked as part of the mobile friendly algo, they did also make the changes to the Google technical guidelines advising that it can hurt all rankings last year. The blocked resources also show up in the “Blocked Resources” section under “Google Index” in Google Search Console.  However, Michael Gray tweeted that he was getting the notice for resources that were not blocked. The message also outlines details of how [...]

What Your SEO Agency Doesn’t know about

Recently I was at a Search engine marketing event in San Diego and was astonished to see how most SEO professionals don’t understand the authority and ranking power “actions” info has. What is actions?  What does this mean? If you're marketing an event, Sale, scheduling a service you name it you're missing out on telling google that an action is available on your webpage for the searcher to take advantage of. this may be a deciding factor to show the authority your content has regarding a search query.  Here’s an example of why this is so important. Let’s use John’s birthday as an example. John’s birthday is such a popular event that many websites and social media has been sharing information about Johns birthday party. In this example they are sharing details such as location, time, date, and activities at the party. Now John’s official birthday party website is being drowned in the online noise of so many sites talking about his event. If someone wants to rsvp for the party how will google be able to determine that John’s site is the most relevant site for them to show on the Search results?  The answer is a action. Example: <div itemscope itemtype=""> <meta itemprop="name" content="John's Birthday Party"/> ... information about the event ... <div itemprop="potentialAction" itemscope itemtype=""> <meta itemprop="target" content=""/> <meta itemprop="target" content="android-app://"/> <meta itemprop="target" content="ios://12345/eventorg/"/> </div> </div>   Now Johns website has an action in schema [...]
